Sneak Peek – Mistress of the Storm
October 26th, 2010It’s not the final cover but my editors gave this to me over the weekend — isn’t it simply stunning? It’s a July 2011 release:

The back cover blurb says:
An epic struggle for dominance is ravaging the Isle of Skye. And in its midst, a man and a woman are locked together by fate—and fantasy…
Odious though it is, Isabel knows what she must do: go to the one known as the Healer, seduce him, and recruit him to her power-hungry stepfather’s cause. If she refuses, her innocent young sister will pay the terrible price of her disobedience. Yet after just one night with the man she must manipulate, it is clear to Isabel that even if she succeeds, the deceit will not leave her unscathed. For in the Healer’s powerful arms, her heart is lost forever…
Duncan of Skye knows there are those who would use his unusual gift for their own selfish gain. Even so, he yearns to trust the beautiful temptress who warms his bed and fills him with insatiable passion. And when he must choose between her future and his own, he may have to risk everything—even his life…
What do you think?

It’s been a fun month so far and I’ve been thrilled to find A STORM OF PLEASURE on bookshelves all over the place. I just wanted to bring you all up-t0-date on some events and happenings –
I was thrilled to discover that I was one of the first authors to be spotlighted in a new feature offer by all Barnes and Noble stores! Yay! Called “More in Store”, it enables customers to open their Nook ebook readers in any store and download original content/articles about a different author and their new release each week. My feature began this week and will be available for any B&N Nook owner for….ever – LOL. Maybe not THAT long, but for a while. If you have one and see the article I wrote, please let me know! Here’s a link with lots of info about it — and a list of the other authors (I am sooooo excited to be included in this) –

I’m heading out for the weekend to the NJRW Put Your Heart in a Book Conference, held at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel. There’s a bookfair on Saturday with more than 60 authors and I’m one of them! PLEASE stop in if you’re in the area and say hello…. Here’s a link to more inf:

I hope your weekend is a good one — stop back soon, I’ll have more news to share soon! BTW – I finally joined Facebook — and managed to post on there with some regularity. Please ‘friend’ me?
It’s here!! Yes it is!! The second book in my STORM trilogy hits the stores in just hours…I’ve been staring at this gorgeous cover just waiting to share it with readers. I hope you’ll look for it and give it a try.
RT Book Reviews called it ‘fast-paced and wildly hot, with a touch of supernatural’ and Romance Junkies said it’s a ‘sensuous, lush historical tale with its basis in legends and folktales’. Both sound good to me!
Bottomline – it’s for anyone looking for a sexy, emotional story set in the highlands and islands of Scotland when the Vikings ruled and when magic still glimmered in the air….
And hey, isn’t the cover just gorgeous!?
To celebrate — I’ll be doing a couple of signings — first, this week, Wednesday September 29 at the Barnes and Noble store at the Christiana Mall in Newark DE. I’m signing from 5-7 and then meeting with the romance readers’ group to chat about both A STORM OF PASSION and A STORM OF PLEASURE.
Then, on Tuesday October 5th I’ll be visiting the Barnes and Noble store on Route 18 S in East Brunswick and signing and chatting with romance readers and authors like Judi McCoy, Jenna Kernan and Shelley Freydont. It’s all begins at 7:30pm….
And, A STORM OF PLEASURE is being featured in a special Nook promotion that provides some original contest that is downloaded to any Nook ‘activated’ in a B&N store! I’m thrilled to be part of that… Please let me know if you have a Nook and receive my article at a store.

Now for news:

I also expect to have some news about some special promos coming up for my new book — one involves a certain bookseller and their ereader and….well, you’ll just have to come back to find out more about them!

Wow! It’s been a long time. . . .
August 19th, 2010…since I posted! My gosh! And so many new things to tell you…..

is still available! It was a July 2010 release but you can still find it in stores(if you ask!) and online in both print and digital formats…

is about to hit the shelves and online, too! The release date for the second in my STORM trilogy is September 28!! More about that later….even a book trailer to see!
In preparation for this new release and to catch things up, my website will be getting an update! Lots new info, new pictures, new contest too!
The third book of the STORM trilogy finally has a title! It’s been going through some changes, for a number of reasons, and the new title is: MISTRESS OF THE STORM !!!
I hope to have coverart soon…..very soon….and I can’t wait to see it!
One more bit of news — I’ll be taking part in the newest RT writers’ contest – WRITING WITH THE BRAVA STARS! The contest will begin with the September issue of RT and is being sponsored by Kensington Books Brava imprint. Ten finalists with the winner being announced at RT in April 2011 in LA — and the winner gets their book published as a Brava romance in 2012…. I’m one of the ten mentors and can’t wait to see the finalists and their entries… Watch the website or visit www.bravaauthors.com for more info.
So please stop back and watch for all the new stuff…..or be my friend over on Facebook! Yes, I’ve finally joined up — I’m Terri Brisbin over there.
And here’s a peek at one of my new photos —
A few months ago, I was invited to contribute a short story for the ongoing, popular MAMMOTH BOOK OF ______ ROMANCE series — this time for a MAMMOTH BOOK OF SCOTTISH ROMANCE. I said yes! Not sure if the title will remain the same, but I turned in “Kidnapping the Laird”, a short sexy story about a laird and his ignored wife, last week.
I just received this and wanted to share it with you –

Isn’t that just gorgeous? I think so, too! The release date is January 4, 2011 in the US and January 27, 2011 in the UK.

Ok — I confess — I went to BEA as a booklover and an author and got to sign my April book at the Harlequin booth and my May book at the RWA booth. I even got to meet one of my favorite authors and picked up an ARC of this upcoming book, THE EMPEROR’S TOMB, due out in November. And I got to meet two of my favorite tv personalities from MSNBC (no, not Keith Olbermann, darn!) – Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough — who were there promoting Mika’s new book. But the highlight of the show….
I met RICK SPRINGFIELD!! Oh yes I did! He was there promoting his upcoming autobiography LATE,LATE AT NIGHT, and he spoke and signed some promo coverflats for attendees… Here’s proof—

Thanks to Liam R for taking and sending me the photo!
So, that, and attending the Harlequin party (and meeting actress/author Kathy Kinney) and the Kensington party and getting a bunch of books and staying in a hotel called The Pod Hotel and finding an Irish pub named the Pig and the Whistle 2, all added to make my first BEA very memorable!
Terri B
PS — the honest to gosh best moment happened twice for me — in two different lines, waiting for someone else’s autograph, people recognized MY NAME and had read MY BOOKS! Huzzah for that — nothing better for an author to hear from a reader…..

I am so excited that I’ll be making my first appearance at the humongous BEA – Book Expo America – tradeshow next week in NYC! I’ll be signing at the Harlequin booth on Wednesday, May 26 and at the RWA booth on Thursday, May 27 – both at 2:00pm.
If you will be attending, PLEASE stop by and say hello…and get a copy of my current Harlequin and Kensington Brava books…
I just found a fabulous iPhone app for the show — with searchable schedules and lists and everything a person needs to prepare and attend the show. Look for the BEAmobile app….and use it!
